Happy new year everyone! It's that time of year everyone - NEW GOLF CLUBS!!!!!
Seriously though, the big club manufacturers are launching their new clubs and we're starting with the Callaway…Paradym??? No Epic, Mavrik, Rogue…their going with a new name - Paradym. It's definitely a paradigm shift from drivers of Callaway's past…see what I did there? I know, I know…just get back to the clubs.
Let's talk about the all-new 360 degree carbon chassis. Carbon isn't anything new in clubs, but this is the first time that the entire chassis is 1 piece of carbon. Removing the titanium from the body of the clubhead will result, according to Callaway, in a clubhead that is 44% lighter. This weight savings allows them to put that weight to the front of the head to enhance ball speed and add more weight to the back for more forgiveness.
In addition to the carbon chassis, they have a new A.I. designed Jailbreak system that is 33% lighter than that of the Rogue from last year. This new system is supposed to allow for more stability and increased ball speeds…which we know means more distance…kind of. They've gone from the two bars, from top to bottom, inside the head to 1 bar that is kind of pronged on the top.
On to the face of the driver. Again, they've used A.I. to optimize the club face to increase ball speed, enhance the launch and give a tighter dispersion on your golf shots.
There are 3 different drivers and here's a breakdown of what you can expect from each club:
Paradym - This gives you a higher launch, while giving lower spin and a neutral ball flight. Supposedly the best combination of distance, forgiveness and adjustability.
Paradym X - This has a higher launch that the regular Paradym, but also gives a high MOI (moment of inertia). This is more suited for the high handicap golfer looking for more forgiveness and a bit of a draw bias…good for us slicers.
Paradym Triple Diamond - This clubhead is definitely made for the lower handicap to scratch golfer looking to work the ball more with lower spin. It does appear to give the extra distance that we might look for, but you're sacrificing the forgiveness with this one.
All-in-all these drivers look great (check them out on the link below), but the price might turn some people away. If you're in the market for a new driver, check these out, but also check out the reviews on YouTube. Get all the data you can.
See you all with the next new drivers!
