It's been awhile since I've posted - my day job has been crazy, but seems to be slowing down a little bit.
I posted about the Callaway Paradym clubs, but other than that, I haven't really posted about any other new clubs. Since it's my first post in almost 3 weeks, I thought I'd post about the clubs I was most interested in seeing this year - the Ping G430's.
Ping had its hands full trying to follow up to the super popular G425's - which are some of the most forgiving clubs you'll see. I recently just purchased (at a discount since the new clubs were announce) the iron set (4-PW) of the G425's and the forgiveness of those is amazing - thank you Global Golf!
For the G430 drivers, you have 3 options: G430 Max, G430 SFT and G430 LST. Just from the look - it doesn't look hugely different than the G425, other than a couple of things on the head and adding a neon yellow/green accent color - I'm not a huge fan, but oh well. One of the most favored improvements of the new drivers is the sound. The G425's didn't have the most pleasing sound in the world (I definitely agree with that statement) and Ping wanted to make sure they corrected that.
They have a new face-design (and a thicker face) to keep the forgiveness we all know, but add more distance. You've still got the moveable weight in the back to help influence the shot shape…and hopefully help with a bit of a hook and/or slice.

On to something that I'm interested in - the G430 irons. As I mentioned earlier - I bought the G425 irons to help with some forgiveness and they definitely deliver. The G430 irons promise a faster ball speed with a gain in distance of about 5 yards a shot, all while keeping the same forgiveness we're used to. One key thing to think about with these - they've adding a degree of loft to these clubs, which will help a little with the distance, but they've also added a PurFlex technology to these irons to help increase your ball speed to gain a little extra distance.
