My #5 moment of 2022 was watching Rory McIlroy tear it up at Augusta in the final round of the 2022 Masters. McIlroy would start the final round 10 strokes behind Scottie Scheffler (sound familiar) and would eventually finish 3 strokes back after record matching round of 64.
Rory hasn't had the greatest of luck in major championships the last 6-7 years, but definitely felt that spark of magic on Sunday at Augusta. McIlroy would go on to hit six birdies and in eagle, but would end the day with the incredible hole-out from the bunker on 18.
He would go on to say that walking off the green at 18 was, "as happy as I've ever been on a golf course right there."
What a day for Rory and it would propel him toward top ten finishes in the four majors in 2022 and, hopefully, hints at what 2023 could bring. Maybe finishing off the career grand-slam?
