I don't know if you were able to watch the Hero World Challenge at all Thursday - Sunday, but hopefully you've seen the way the tournament ended!
Viktor Hovland walked away with the Tiger trophy, but it wasn't without a little bit of drama. Victor pretty much
led the last two days of the tournament, with Scottie Scheffler making a run to get within 1 shot for a time. Scottie then made a bogey and then a double bogey to drop 4 strokes back, but was able to get back within 2
strokes going to the 18th tee. Scottie hit his drive in the fairway, while Viktor's drive hit in a fairway bunker and bounced out, into the rough. It wasn't the worst place to be, but instead of playing safe and laying up, Viktor went for the green and ended up hitting in the water. Scottie's second shot ended up in the sand off the right side of the green while Viktor's shot for par ended up just on the edge of the green. All Scottie had do was chip in and he would force Viktor to make his bogey putt to tie...AND HE ALMOST DID IT! Scottie's chip little bounced out of the side of the cup and rolled a few feet past the hole. Viktor stepped up and absolutely NAILED his bogey putt to win.
It was a heck of an ending and so happy to Viktor walk away a winner again. He's only the second player to win back-to-back Hero World Challenge tournaments...Tiger is the other.
Again, what a tournament and what an ending! Now looking forward to the Match on Saturday, December 10.
